The Oval Partnership was recently appointed as the Curator for the Hong Kong exhibition at the 13th International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale by the Hong Kong Institute of Architects and Hong Kong Arts Development Council. The Venice International Architecture Biennale is one of the most significant events in the international architecture calendar attracting thousands of prominent architects, designers, property developers and critics. The Theme for this year’s Biennale directed by David Chipperfield is 'Common Ground', and in response to this, the theme for the Hong Kong exhibition is 'Inter Cities/Intra Cities – Ghost Writing the Future'. As curators, the Oval Partnership will act as ghostwriters, inviting exhibitors to speculate on the past, present and future inhabitants of Kowloon East as a way of re-framing pre-existing and new work. The Exhibition opens in Venice on the 29th August and runs until the 25th November. A response exhibition will be held in Hong Kong in 2013.
